The Streets of the Viennese | Inspiring Graffiti Art

Deep underground and all around town, the streets of Vienna are lit up with beautiful graffiti art displays. The type that fascinates the eye of Nunzio. An eclectic enigma.

We've travelled the streets of Barcelona, Venice, and London. We've even walked the winding roads of Woodstock, Cape Town. But, more beautiful than that - in terms of street art - more beautiful than the city of dragons, Llubjana, and the castles of Dundee. We found the streets of the Viennese to be the most inspiring, and totally sprawling with talented graffiti artists. This is a showcase of some of the artworks.

A city that has been devastated by wars, politics, and crimes - bursts to life with tremendous colour and ambition.

An ode to the arts and culture movement that has been put on hold. Governments have somewhat turned a blind eye to the investment in arts across Austria. Shoved it under ground. Yet, a message of this culture shines through, and with it, the brilliance of being. Sprayed, drawn, and sketched - Nunzio Magazine is proud to deliver this message. #WeWalkBeside

It's great to see that, despite the pressure and inconsistencies from politicians, there is a buzz and delicate uprising in art, design, dance and celebration of culture, around the city.

Here, students can be seen practicing some architectural sketches and design. Truly inspiring!

So what do you think of the street art in Vienna? Write to use and tell us about your favourite graffiti art from around the world - we can't explore every city - but there is much we can learn from our readers.

Stellenbosch Botanical Gardens | Serene and Stunning

We are always on the lookout for activities and outings that can stimulate the body, mind and soul, that are not a “run-of-the-mill” experience and that can assuage our need to contribute to society and the world at large. The quiet and unassuming Stellenbosch University Botanical Gardens certainly tick these “boxes”.

It is a fact that the Western Cape region of South Africa is a natural habitat for the Fynbos, Succulent Karoo, Nama Karoo, Forest, Albany Thicket and Grassland biomes, is also home to the smallest of the world’s six recognised floral biomes namely the Cape Floral Kingdom, and in addition it is home to two UNESCO World Heritage sites. It is easy to see that the Western Cape is an intensely diverse and dense floral region, one of the most so in the world!

It is appropriate therefore that the SUBG are not the largest such gardens that one will find, yet the amount of floral gems one may discover there are representative of the floral region it represents and helps to conserve.

Given that it is situated in the heart of busy, bustling, student and tourist filled Stellenbosch, it is truly a restful haven where we could catch our breath, enjoy a meal and cooldrinks at the lovely Katjiepiering restaurant, and browse the offerings at the visitors shop.

We were transported by the assortment of displays and variety of flora on offer!

Considering a very reasonable entry fee of R15 and only R10 for seniors, we are sure that this well loved and maintained botanical garden will give value for money on your next day trip, so please do consider visiting!

Painting Colour - Anny Maddock Paintings For Sale

South African painter Anny Maddock began drawing when she was just mature enough to hold a pencil and immediately showed an eye for art.
Attending Rhenish Girls High in Stellenbosch, Maddock concentrated on artistic work thereafter at the Cape Technical College. Subsequent to qualifying, she concentrated on Fashion Design and afterward went into Textile Design.
Maria Almeida lists a beautiful selection of paintings by Anny Maddock on Pinterest.

Anna revived her enthusiasm for painting and her aspiration to be a visionary, encompassed by mountains, untamed life and quaint little towns. An adventure from the tiniest bit of detail, drawn to the human body and mind.

Her allegorical, touchy portrayal of ladies is her very own figurative account, and numerous other ladies' profound turn of events and thoughtfulness, with whirling textures and finished stone sets, places the figures solidly on the ground.
Her precise, majestic pastel strategy offers her the chance to outline her drawing while fusing pale and natural tones. She is one, of not very many artistes, who has stunning expertise in pastels and she utilizes an extremely focused array to make the environment so intrinsic in her work.

Anny's devotion to tranquil environments and her enthusiastic love of nature has kept her in South Africa. Following some glorious years in the Overberg, she presently lives in a 100 year-old farmhouse on the edges of Calitzdorp in the Klein Karoo.

Art connoisseurs appreciate Anny Maddock's technical expertise but everyone can be touched by the beauty and soulfulness of her work.

A fellow artist commented: "Each of Anny's paintings is like a line of poetry".
